When and how did you discover Game Maker?
When I was laid off in the summer of 2002 and needed something to occupy my time. I came across a website of a person (can't remember) who made their own video games. I back-tracked to the Game Maker site and got interested.
What games or other projects have you made with (or for) Game Maker?
On my website. The Warp Drive series and my newest game, RK1, being amongst the best. I've also created a Death calculator for the more morbid people out there.

RK-1: Revenge of the Rats
What are your favorite Game Maker games?
Rob Clark - Asteroids (uses only the draw event)
Filippo Baraccani - CamCopter
Shawn64 - Jetz Fusion, Missle Wave 3D
Baby Bonnie Hood - Macky and Pentell
Jph Wacheski - Joust, Revenge of the Lava Troll
SnailFox - Space Oddity
What are your favorite games NOT made with Game Maker?
Haven't picked up any new games in years so...
Final Fantasy VII
Serious Sam
What advice would you give new Game Maker users or those who would like to improve?
Game Maker is not as easy as Prof Overmars makes it out to be. It takes time to learn it. And trust me, you will be frustrated. Work through it.
What elements of a game are most important to you and why?
Playability to keep the player interested, then graphics.
Why do you make games? What is your primary inspiration, motivation, or both?
I consider it another form of art so I try to create something unique each time.
Do you have other artistic pursuits other than game development? If so, what?
My art, which is also on my website. I wouldn't mind a career as an artist, but I know that's unrealistic.
Any other comments?
Not really.
